Today, I’m introducing my official April McColeman Photography logo, and taking a leap into showing all of you my authentic self. It’s scary! Many friends, family members and books have given me the confidence to take this plunge. Why is a logo reveal so scary? Well, this is my FIRST official blog AND logos are one of those things that represent your business, tying everything together. It’s the core of what your business represents! My original homemade logo served the purpose, but it wasn’t as unique and authentic as I was hoping for.
This required a lot of soul searching and reflecting on who I am and little things that bring me joy. It was also important for my new logo to represent my vision for April McColeman Photography.
I have been working with Marieka Diepenveen (http://www.mariekadesigns.com) from ‘Fine arts and graphic designs by Marieka Diepenveen’. Thank goodness, because she has been an amazing designer to work with. She listened to my wishes and put together something unique, simple and artistic. I had to come up with 3 words that I wanted this logo to represent. From there we decided that using my own signature kept it simple yet personal. After months, (I mean like a year, haha!) of working together I am overjoyed with the final product. It was wonderful to work with someone who is so patient. The result is a custom product that perfectly blends together “me”, and my business all in one.
